at our wedding reception, my friend jeremy gave me our wedding present - brandi carlile's newest cd (at the time). fast forward to our two week honeymoon on prince edward island, canada. the majority of our trip consisted of collecting sea glass and driving to explore different points of the island. we didn't have ipods and the only cd i had to listen to - in the car, at the rental house, etc. - was the one jeremy had given to me. now had i loved brandi carlile ever since megan introduced me to her at nyu (thanks megs!), but after fourteen days of listening to her cd on repeat, her voice became the music of our new marriage.
ever since then, we had been dying to see her perform live. last year, andy bought us tickets for my birthday present. unfortunately, a hebrew class took priority so i attended with a friend.
when we saw she was coming the perform at the zoo this year, we bought tickets immediately.
it was perfect evening to be outside, listening to brandi carlile live.
warm, no bugs - maybe not the most comfortable seats, but we were ok with that.
bottom line: she is amazing live and continues to be part of our ongoing marital soundtrack.
