a couple weekends ago, andy and i were invited to attend the staff retreat at a beautiful place with a fantastic name: the flying cow ranch.
the staff road down on ridiculous taiwanese buses (lots of frill and color and tassels) and arrived at this refuge. complete with a dairy (go figure!) and lots of green, we were oh so happy to be out of the city for the day. in the morning, we worshipped together and were set free to have 2 hours of solitude: a chance to pray and journal and think and be still with God. suffice it say, it was much needed for all who attended. after the time of solitude we ate quite the lunch - lots of fish and rice and mayonnaise (restaurants put mayonnaise and sprinkles on all kinds of fish here... not my favorite). the afternoon was full of prayer time.
it was a good, but odd day. being the new ones in the group is never very comfortable - people don't really know you and you don't know them. but all in all, we were glad we went. if for nothing else than all the green.
below are some of our pictures from the day.
